He plays a CIA lawyer who struggles to maintain his composure as an asset tries to reveal agency secrets in the new Netflix series The Recruit, though not literally. This young attorney will soon have to flee from peril that is far greater than he thought.

Since executive producer and showrunner Alexi Hawley developed and wrote The Rookie, fans will be in for a treat. Doug Liman, who wrote the screenplay for several of the show’s episodes and directed others (Edge of Tomorrow, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Bourne Identity), is known for his passionate writing and visually stunning action sequences. Alex Kalymnios, an English writer and director,

who has directed episodes of Quantico, Titans, and S.W.A.T. among his credentials, has also helmed a few episodes. The series was executive produced by Centineo.

“None of us can legitimately dream of being James Bond, but all of us have had a first job,” Hawley said to the audience at Netflix’s Tudum event in September. “With coworkers we can’t trust and objectives we don’t understand. Those covert objectives can only get you killed at the CIA.
